Life is but a Carousel:
The easy version:

You are riding on a carousel. The horsey rises and falls as the carousel spins...

Look! A brass ring!

Grab it!

Good for you ! You now have succeeded in  grabbing the brass ring!

The not so easy version:

You are riding on a carousel.

There is another carousel spinning counter-clockwise, abutting your carousel

You step from your carousel to the next one, moving up a step..no brass ring, but you're moving up the path

Good for you!

The not so easy version (2):

You are riding on a carousel.
There is another carousel spinning counter clockwise, abutting your carousel.
As your carousel spins, there is another one abutting yours and the first one. and another, and another...each one spinning in a different direction...
Step on one and head on up (or down..be careful).

The more real version (1)

You are riding on a carousel.

There is another carousel spinning in a counter direction, almost touching your carousel.

As your carousel spins, you see that there is another one abutting yours and the first one; and another, and another...each one spinning in a different direction at different speeds from slow to blinding fast. To complicate the matter, they can be different sizes; tiny to 2 feet up to 20 feet across.

Pick one, and if the speed is too fast, you are thrown off, without a horse  or brass ring.

Pick the right one and you can move up the path, carousel to carousel.

Pick the wrong one and you might find yourself in a downward spiral

The more real version (2)

You are riding on a carousel.

There is another carousel spinning counter clockwise, abutting your carousel

As your carousel spins, there is another one abutting yours and the first one, and another, and another...each one spinning in a different direction at different speeds, from slow to blinding fast.

Each one a different size; microscopic, 2 feet to 20 feet across.

Look up, look down, look left, look right: more carousels, at all different angles and speeds...be REAL careful where you step now.

The more real version (3)

Looking down, you see a dark circle on the floor, moving independently of the direction of your carousel, quietly changing size as it skitters across the bottom.

Watch your step, dropping into it will send you down a level to the carousels below.

Look up and you might be able to jump to the next one above you.

The more real version (4)

The circle at your feet grows and shrinks as the carousel spins...get off yours before it gets too big!

The real version (Final)

Each carousel has walls reaching above your head.
Each wall has a opening that can grow or shrink in an apparent random manner.
Each floor has a circular opening that can grow or shrink randomly.
The edges of the walls and floor are razor sharp.
One mis-step and you are chopped meat..heading down the entropy slide.
Stay on your horse, hold on to the brass ring or take a step or two...your choice and chaos, like the house, always wins.
